A self-service point fails in the hour when a payment does not complete and nobody on the floor knows the next step. Settle that path before the cabinet arrives.
This checklist is the deliverable. It is a list of questions, not a claim that any machine was tried here. No model number, speed or power draw is printed, because no manufacturer sheet was opened on 14 October 2026. A local library search did not return a shop-equipment specification for this draft. Do not read a peer’s brochure as this site’s capability.

Expected deliverables
| Title promise | What is on this page | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| A checklist before self-service | The bullet list under the next heading | Every item is a question a manager can answer yes, no, or not yet |
The list
- Payment: if a card or cash step fails, who is allowed to finish or void the sale, and where is that written?
- Restock: who fills the cabinet, on which days, and what is done when a lane is empty at noon?
- Downtime: is there a paper or staffed fallback for the hours the cabinet is off?
- Floor: is the standing area free of the spills and loose mats that the Health and Safety Executive groups under slip and trip causes? The HSE index, opened 14 October 2026, points to causes and prevention, and to a note on what those accidents cost. It was not used as a product test.
- Records: which identifier, if any, is on the cabinet, and who keeps the service log?
The photograph is an example of an unbranded cabinet in a bright room. It is not a customer’s store and not a test rig. Screen graphics were not part of the picture.
A locker used for prepaid collection is a different object. See collection cabinets and the space around them. The parent page is retail technology.
Method and sources
HSE slips index, 14 October 2026, used only for the existence of that guidance. No equipment manual. Updated October 2026.
